Born Silvan Salzmann in 1978, Sil van Ried took to music at a young age. In lieu of a traditional music education, he taught himself how to make electronic music, relying on his instincts and adventurous sense of melody to create his own sound. His talents soon made him a mainstay on his country’s electronic music scene, as he graduated from small clubs to huge national festivals.

Sil van Ried wurde 1978 als Silvan Salzmann geboren und entdeckte die Musik bereits in jungen Jahren. Anstelle einer traditionellen Musikausbildung verliess er sich auf seinen Instinkt und sein abenteuerliches Gespür für Melodien. Dieses Talent machte ihn bald zu einer festen Grösse in der elektronischen Musikszene seines Landes, wo er sich von kleinen Clubs zu grossen nationalen Festivals entwickelte.
Music and to be a father / Musik und das Vatersein
Eventually, music would take a backseat for Silvan as he stopped performing and focused on raising his daughter. And while being a father brought him infinite joy, music was never far from his mind. He continued to create melodies and rhythms during his rare idle hours. These sounds would soon become the foundation of his artistic rebirth.

Durch die Geburt seiner wundervollen Tochter trat die Musik für Silvan in den Hintergrund. Das Vatersein erfüllte ihn mit unendlicher Freude. Die Musik blieb stets präsent und wenn es die Zeit erlaubte, kreierte er weiter Melodien und Rhythmen. Diese Klänge wurden schliesslich die Grundlage seiner künstlerischen Wiedergeburt.
